Two images captured the emotions of Day 3 of the NFL draft for former Arizona Wildcats star Scooby Wright.
The first showed him crying tears of joy moments after the Cleveland Browns called to inform him they were selecting him with a seventh-round pick. The second showed Wright, still fully clothed, leaping into the pool in his parents’ backyard in Windsor, Calif.
From frustration to elation, with relief in between. That’s how the draft felt for Wright, who had to wait almost to the end before hearing his name called.
“Up and down like a roller-coaster,” Wright told the Star, summing up draft weekend.
