Redshirt junior Pau Tonnesen was impressive in Eugene Oregon yesterday placing 2nd overall in the NCAA Championship meet for the Decthlon event qualifying for the World Games and the Olympics.

Pau Tonnesen earned a score of 8,247 resulting in a runner-up finish in the decathlon Thursday, setting a new school record previously held by Jake Arnold (record was 8,215 set in 2007.)
Tonnesen was just 109 points behind Georgia’s Maicel Uibo (Polva, Estonia), also a junior, who repeated as Decathlon champion with a total of 8,356 points.
