Arizona football: On scouting Beavers, popsicles vs. applesauce, Riggleman's role

During his first two years at the UA, RJ Morgan had one job — and its one that most people only dream of: Gain weight.

So Morgan ate “a lot” of meat and vegetables, hit the weight room and transformed himself from a backup safety to, as of this week, a regular in the Wildcats’ linebacking corps. He started in last week’s loss to Stanford, and finished with two tackles. Morgan has 10 tackles this year. He now weighs 230 pounds, 20 pounds more than he weighed when he arrived at the UA two years ago.

“RJ’s worked his tail off to get bigger,” coach Rich Rodriguez said.
