Todd Graham defends ASU's system despite rough season

Pressuring the quarterback is a program staple at Arizona State. At any given time defensive assistant coaches can rattle off the Sun Devils' statistics over the past three years and where they rank. It's a top selling point in recruiting. A part of coach Todd Graham's culture.

This season it hasn't worked.

Don't misunderstand. With just a bowl game left to play, the Sun Devils (6-6 and 4-5 in the Pac-12) still have a chance to lead the country in both quarterback sacks and tackles for loss. But in other -- perhaps more important -- areas, they are statistically the worst unit Graham has had since his arrival in the winter of 2011.
