There is grass down again at Sun Devil Stadium, a sure sign that yet another construction race will be won in time for the start of football season on Sept. 1.
Plenty of work remains this month and a final phase of the stadium's $307-million renovation still lies ahead in 2019. But the project, which began with a preliminary phase in 2014, has reached an important symbolic point with a fully connected main concourse that allows fans, if they choose, to walk fully around a stadium resized from seating for 71,000 to 55,000.
