LAS VEGAS—Five members of the Arizona State wrestling team will wrestle in Saturday’s quarterfinals at the UWW Junior Nationals at the South Point Convention Center.
Four Sun Devils who redshirted in 2015-16 will wrestle on Saturday, including Josh Shields (74 kg), Anthony Valencia (74 kg), Zahid Valencia (84 kg), and Lance Benick (96 kg). Sophomore Jacen Petersen, who wrestles at 165 pounds during the regular season, will also wrestle in the 79 kg quarterfinals.
Shields opened the day with a 10-0 tech over Casey Dobson, and followed with an 11-0 tech over Jeremiah Moody. Shields’ first opponent on Friday is Mark Hall.
