PALO ALTO, Calif. – It may be a different season, but the Pac-12 women's hammer throw champion was the same as Sun Devil senior Magdalyn Ewen nabbed her third-straight title in the event, as well as a second-straight shot put title in her hunt for another sweep at the first day of the conference championships.
In her quest for back-to-back gold in three events, Ewen opened her final Pac-12 appearance by setting the meet record to take the crown yet again in Palo Alto. She launched the hammer 74.38m/244-0 feet and won the competition by more than 30 feet.
