Arizona State's Turner Washington is a finalist for the most prestigious going to track an field athletes.
The junior from Tucson was named one of three final candidates for the Bowerman Award. The three-time first team All-American Turner Washington is joined by Louisiana State jumper JuVaughn Harrison and Oregon distance runner Cole Hocker while finalist for the women's honor are jumper-hurdler Tara Davis of Texas, multi-event specialist Tyra Gittens and middle distance runner Athing Mu, both of Texas A&M.
Washington boasted eight of the top 10 seasonal marks in the discus, seven of the top10 seasonal marks in the outdoor shot put and four of the top10 seasonal marks in the indoor shot put highlighted by a collegiate record of 21.
