ASU's NCAA Academic Progress Rate up again, bringing large bonus for Ray Anderson

Arizona State's overall NCAA Academic Progress Rate edged up one point to a school record 992, again second in the Pac-12 behind Stanford.

APR multi-year scores for 2013-17 and single-year scores for 2016-17 for all Division I teams were announced Wednesday.

ASU Vice President for Athletics Ray Anderson will again earn a substantial six-figure bonus for his department's academic success.

Under terms of a new contract signed last fall that pays $800,000 in base salary, Anderson will receive $348,310 in academic bonuses. That breaks down to $136,000 for football's 975 (out of 1000) APR score, $120,000 for ASU's overall APR score and $92,310 for six teams receiving public recognition awards for an APR in the top 10 percent nationally.
