Offensive guard and former Sun Devil Sam Jones was taken in the sixth round of the 2018 NFL Draft Saturday.The sixth-round selection is higher than some anticipated, as NFL.com had him projected to go in the seventh round or undrafted. Jones is the third Sun Devil to be drafted so far, following running back Kalen Ballage and linebacker Christian Sam.
Last season, Jones started all 13 games at left guard but decided to declare for the draft following the firing of Todd Graham. He missed more than half the 2017 season due to a foot injury, but he did see action his redshirt freshman year, playing in 12 of the team’s 13 games.
