PHOENIX – Jordan Aboites notched 11 strikeouts in his first career start to lead No. 12 Sun Devil Baseball past Abilene Christian, 4-1, in the team’s final regular season home game on Tuesday night at Phoenix Municipal Stadium.
Aboites (3-3) held the Wildcats (15-37) scoreless across 6 1/3 innings, his career-long outing, and allowed just five hits as he surpassed his previous career high in strikeouts after the second inning. His only walk came against the last batter he faced with one out in the seventh inning and the runner eventually came home to score for ACU’s only run of the game.
