Today: Defensive line.
Coach: Jackie Shipp, third season.
State of the position: The Sun Devils -- who have ranked in the Top 20 nationally in tackles for loss and quarterback sacks the last three years -- lost end Marcus Hardison, but everyone else returns. Sophomore Tashon Smallwood, senior Demetrius Cherry, senior Mo Latu and junior Viliami Latu all gained valuable starting experience last season. Even so, Hardison is a significant loss.
