Tomas benched as D-Backs' win streak ends

HOUSTON – As they rode a six-game winning streak back to the brink of the .500 mark this week, it felt like everything might be coming together for the Diamondbacks. But the winning didn’t just stop, it came to an ugly, screeching halt in a 9-2 loss to the Houston Astros on Saturday night at Minute Maid Park.

The pitching staff served up four home runs, the offense managed just two hits and manager Chip Hale sent an apparent message to one of his young stars when he pulled slugger Yasmany Tomas from the game in sixth inning for an apparent lack of hustle.
