Despite not striking out a single batter and walking five through six innings, Taijuan Walker only allowed two runs in that span. Then he went back out for the seventh and things got messy in a hurry. The Cardinals scored three in the frame, only one of which was earned. The Diamondbacks chipped away though, scoring two in the eighth, though the cost was high. Nick Ahmed took a Trevor Rosenthal fastball off the hands, suffering a fracture in the right hand. He is now out indefinitely. The Diamondbacks tacked on another in the ninth to tie it before Chris Herrmann finally sent the team home winners with a one-out RBI-single in the tenth.
