Shelby Miller gets roughed up by Giants in second start, says he expects more from himself

He bent over like he was going to get sick. The only things Shelby Miller was hurling, however, were curse words at himself.

Frustrated for allowing yet another run Saturday night against the visiting San Francisco Giants, this one a solo home run by Andrew McCutchen, Miller screamed some more, shook his fist in rage, and then just shook his head.

It was only the fourth inning, but this game was over. Miller knew it and so did the Chase Field crowd of 38,117.

If there was anything positive for Miller to salvage out of Arizona’s 7-0 loss in his second start back following Tommy John surgery 14 months ago, perhaps it was that he retired the final four batters he faced after McCutchen’s ninth homer of the season had padded the Giants to 6-0.
