Mike’s Hardball Talk: Field Manager Rumors and who I want leading the club

The Diamondbacks started this week by hiring Red Sox “GM” Mike Hazen to oversee the entire baseball operations. His first task on the job is finding a field manager to replace Chip Hale, who was let go after a disappointing 69-93 season. The top three rumored candidates are Red Sox Bench Coach Torey Lovullo, Braves First Base Coach Eddy Perez, and AAA Reno Manager Phil Nevin. All three candidates have qualifications to be a manager, some more than others. This is my list of candidates in my preferred order:

The consensus seems to be that Lovullo is the favorite to land the Diamondbacks manager role.
