Diamondbacks' Zack Greinke finally sees action in ‘slow’ spring

Zack Greinke’s “slow-played” training camp finally picked up a little momentum on Friday afternoon with his first live batting practice session of the month, a 20-pitch, grunt-filled outing that took place under the supervision of coaches and team personnel at Salt River Fields.

Greinke faced an alternating pair of minor-league hitters then stood on the mound talking with pitching coach Mike Butcher and bullpen coach Mike Fetters for longer than the throwing session lasted.

“I felt OK,” Greinke said later. “Everything was coming out of my fingers pretty good. It was pretty sharp. Command was OK. Everything was OK.
