For having their name thrown out in a lot of rumors around the trade deadline, the Arizona Diamondbacks were on the few clubs to have come away without making any moves. They were linked to players such as Reds’ closer Aroldis Chapman, and were even rumored to show interest in Cole Hamels.
However, at the end of the day, the Diamondbacks decided not to risk the future by standing pat and not making any moves. They were in the midst of a six-game winning streak at the time and the team was beginning to finally gel.
