Diamondbacks 4, Reds 3

Braden Shipley bounced back nicely, and A.J. Pollock was simply present. The bad news? Our bullpen still sucks. The good news? The Reds' was worse tonight.

Braden Shipley was hardly dominating this evening, but did a good job of keeping the ball on the ground, and was helped out by some good defensive plays, particularly in the outfield. He allowed the Reds to take the lead in the second inning, but worked his way through seven frames without any further damage. He allowed only four hits, though his K:BB ratio was the wrong way round, at 1:4. That gave the D-backs offense time to come back, though they racked up the strikeouts tonight as well.
