D-backs were 'blown away' by new GM Hazen

The D-backs formally introduced Mike Hazen as their new executive vice president and general manager on Monday in a news conference at Chase Field.

Hazen, 40, comes to Arizona from Boston, where he served as general manager for one season. Now in Arizona, he takes over a front office that has housed five GMs in six years.

"The word 'sustainability' was important to Ken and I and this organization," president and chief executive officer Derrick Hall said. "When you look at what Mike can do, he has an ability to see a different path to get us there, to get us to that sustainability.
