D-backs pitcher Marshall moved to Barrow

ATLANTA -- D-backs pitcher Evan Marshall has been transferred to the Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix as he continues to recover from injuries suffered when he was hit in the head by a line drive.

While pitching for Triple-A Reno on Aug. 4 in El Paso, Marshall was struck on his right temple by a line drive and suffered a fractured skull, and he was placed in intensive care.

According to a statement by the team, Marshall underwent surgery to alleviate swelling and pressure not long after the injury.

On Thursday, Marshall was transferred to Barrow -- recognized internationally as a leader in neurological research -- where he will continue his recovery.
