SAN FRANCISCO – It hasn't happened yet, but right-hander Daniel Hudson has no doubt he could do it. He's positive he can pitch on back-to-back days.
This might sound surprising given that Hudson isn't too far removed from consecutive Tommy John elbow surgeries. And, in fact, it's been sort of a surprise to him, as well.
But he points to an outing he made near the end of spring training as the one that helped him clear a mental hurdle in terms of understanding what his arm is capable of doing in its reconstructed condition.
In a start near the end of March, he threw 32/3 innings, running his pitch count up around 75.
