Diamondbacks need more offense in bottom of order

The Diamondbacks haven't weighed in on the currently raging debate about whether the National League should adopt the designated hitter, but they might want to jump on board in favor of adding another full-time hitter.

Not for their pitcher, but for one of the other spots at the bottom of the order. The Diamondbacks have received majors-worst production from their final three spots, with their non-pitcher players posting a .486 OPS.

"I think we need probably more," manager Chip Hale said. "We do. They know that. They're not going to be happy hitting what they're hitting right now.
