Arizona Coyotes’ owner, Alex Meruelo, intends to acquire the NHL team’s minority shareholder Andrew Borroway’s ownership interests. Borroway was recently acquitted of all domestic violence and assault charges that were raised against him earlier this year after an altercation with his wife.
Borroway currently holds a 5% stake in the Coyotes and Meruelo is actively in the process of buying back his interest in the team. Meruelp acquired control over the franchise from Barroway in July of 2019 after Barroway had held majority ownership of the Coyotes for almost five years.
