Coyotes leave New York empty-handed after 1-0 loss to the Islanders.

After losing 2-1 to the New York Rangers yesterday, the Arizona Coyotes (1-2) had a back-to-back mini-series as they headed to UBS Arena to play the Islanders (2-0) on Oct. 17 and a similar theme happened both nights.

Goaltending brilliance and not much offense.

Last night, the Rangers goalie Igor Shesterkin made 26 saves on 27 shots to help propel them to get the win.

In Long Island today, the Coyotes ran into yet another star goaltender in his own right, Ilya Sorokin.

Coming up just short against the Rangers, Arizona looked to bounce back against an Islanders team that had two days of rest since their first game of the season with the Buffalo Sabres in a 2-1 victory.
