It will be a battle of backup goaltenders on Friday at Gila River Arena with Coyotes netminder Scott Wedgewood facing Kings backup Darcy Kuemper as Arizona looks to win its fourth game in its past five contests.
Wedgwood is filling in for the injured Antti Raanta, who suffered an upper body injury in the first period of Wednesday’s game against the Sharks. Raanta, who was starting in his eighth straight game, is not expected to start on Friday or Saturday against the Vegas Golden Knights.
“(Antti) is feeling better than yesterday,” Coyotes coach Rick Tocchet said after the team's morning skate on Friday.
