Former Cardinals receiver Michael Floyd sentenced to 1 extra day in jail for blood-alcohol violation

A Scottsdale City Court judge on Monday sentenced former Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Michael Floyd to one day in jail after court-ordered tests revealed alcohol in his blood after he had been ordered not to consume alcohol as part of his sentence for an extreme DUI.

Judge Statia Hendrix also ordered Floyd to complete the remaining five days of his house arrest either here or in Minnesota. Floyd signed with the Minnesota Vikings last month.

Floyd and his attorney spoke with the judge by phone and did not appear in court.

Floyd was ordered to appear in Scottsdale City Court for “non-compliance of high alcohol tests” related to his guilty plea earlier this year to the extreme DUI charge.
