Taken literally, Cardinals offensive coordinator Harold Goodwin’s philosophy of running the football makes no sense. The math doesn't work.
“I would take 4 yards over 15 yards every day,” he said.
But here is what he meant: Over the past three games, the Cardinals are looking too much at the horizon and missing what is right in front of them.
“When you’re looking for the 15-yard run all the time, you miss the 4-yard run,” Goodwin said. “You end up with 2 (yards), you end up with 1. We haven’t been efficient the last three weeks, and efficiency to me is getting 4 yards.
