Cardinals' Mike Jenkins out for season with torn ACL

Cardinals cornerback Mike Jenkins suffered a torn right ACL in Sunday’s game against the Texans and will miss the season, Coach Bruce Arians said Monday afternoon.

Jenkins, in competition for the starting job, suffered the injury in the first quarter as he was pivoting to try and make a tackle.

His injury comes at a position where the Cardinals already had concerns. Rookie Brandon Williams has started for all of preseason, but was being pressed by Jenkins and Justin Bethel.

Bethel didn’t start practicing until the final week of training camp as he recovered from foot surgery this off-season.
