Boivin: DirecTV feud keeps some NFL playoffs out of Yuma

It’s a tough time to be an NFL fan if you live in Yuma.

Those residents are the latest to be caught in the middle of a DirecTV dispute with a media conglomerate, this one between the News-Press and Gazette Company, which owns several broadcast properties including Fox 9 KECY-TV in Yuma. That means the area’s NFL fans are missing two playoff games this weekend: the Seahawks-Falcons on Saturday and the Packers-Cowboys on Sunday.

The Yuma area has a sizable amount of Seahawks fans who come to the city for the winter.

The New-Press and Gazette Company said on its website that “we’re dealing with a company that has a history of behaving badly.
