BOONE, N.C. — Appalachian State University wrestling alum Austin Trotman ranked No. 4 in the country in the US Freestyle Ladder at 189 pounds this month as part of the Titan Mercury Wrestling Club in Nebraska.
Most recently, Trotman took the gold medal in the 189-pound division at the 2016 Bill Farrell International in November. In his first Bill Farrell win, the Winston-Salem native defeated a fellow Titan Mercury member, Timmy McCall, by technical fall (12-2) in a time of 4:55.
“It just feels really good to be doing what I enjoy doing,” Trotman said.
