BOONE, N.C. – On Thursday, May 5 inside of the Holmes Center, Appalachian State University track and field honored its seniors who may not have the opportunity to walk at graduation due to the 2016 Sun Belt Outdoor Championships.
"We have several athletes who want to compete in the Sun Belt Championship meet, so they would not be able to walk at graduation," said head coach John Weaver. "We decided to give them and their families an opportunity to have a "graduation" experience with an actual member of the Chancellor's cabinet conferring their degree upon them.
