BOONE, N.C. – Three Appalachian State football players have landed on preseason watch lists for major postseason awards headed into the 2017 season. Offensive guard Colby Gossett, linebacker Eric Boggs, and defensive back Clifton Duck have all been recognized. Gossett was named to the Outland Award Watch List, presented to the top lineman in college football. Boggs was pegged for the Nagurski Award, given to the nation's top linebacker, while Duck landed on the Thorpe Award list, presented to the nation's top defensive back.
Gossett was an anchor of one of the top rushing attacks in the nation – and Sun Belt history – in 2016.
