BOONE, N.C. – The second season begins for Appalachian State (2-2) this weekend as conference play arrives. The Mountaineers practiced briefly on Sunday and had Monday off as preparations begins for Saturday’s Sun Belt Conference opener against Georgia State. Kickoff is at noon on American Sports Network and ESPN3.
While the stakes are raised and the ultimate goal of a Sun Belt Championship is on the line, it’s business as usual for the Apps as far as game week preparation. Head Coach Scott Satterfield emphasized a sense of urgency ahead of last week’s win Akron and it paid off as the Apps picked up a road win over a bowl team from 2015, but he says no extra motivation or change in preparation is necessary for conference play.
