Box Score MONTGOMERY, ALA. – Appalachian State softball fell to Nicholls State (4-1) and Alabama State (10-4) on Friday, Feb. 16 in day one of the Black & Gold Tournament hosted by Alabama State. The Mountaineers are now 1-5 on the season.
Game One
App State scored one run against the Nicholls State Colonels in seven innings. Four Mountaineers had one hit apiece for a team total of four. Avery Wheatley scored on a double from Keri White in the bottom of the third inning. Jenny Dodd hit a double to left field in the bottom of the fourth inning, but neither hit from White nor Dodd could pull out a victory for the Mountaineers.
