NEW ORLEANS - App State senior Taylor Smith snagged her second Sun Belt Women's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week honor of the season, the league announced on Wednesday. Smith's honor marks App State's fourth SBC Athlete of the Week honor of the 2024 outdoor campaign.
At the Duke Invitational on April 11-13, Smith registered three top-five finishes. The Northern Charleston, S.C. native secured second in the women's 200 meters with a season best time of 23.55, which moved her to fourth in the App State all-time list. In the women's 4x100-meter relay, Smith ran the third leg of the race, helping the squad to a season best of 45.
