Mountaineers Blank Saint Louis For Third Straight Shutout

BOONE, N.C. - Appalachian State University field hockey (7-8, 2-3 MAC) captured its third consecutive shutout as the Mountaineers posted a 3-0 win over Saint Louis (4-10, 0-6 A-10) on Thursday night at Brandon & Erica M. Adcock Field. Savanna Sheridan, Chloe Bell, and Ali Williams each scored a goal for the Apps.

Appalachian goalkeeper Rachel Gaines picked up her fourth shutout of the season behind a ten-save performance. Sophomore Annette Jarosz also registered a defensive save to help preserve the shutout.

In the first half, the Mountaineers were held to just four shots with no shots on goal, but the App State defense held strong against eight Billiken shots to keep the score 0-0 going into halftime.
