KANNAPOLIS, N.C. — Led by a tie for fourth place from Addison Beam, whose 1-under total of 209 left him one shot out of a playoff, App State Men's Golf tied for fifth place in a 15-team field Tuesday as the host of the Irish Creek Collegiate.
A strong final round score of 282 from the Mountaineers included a pair of 70s (from Beam and Sverrir Haraldsson), plus a pair of 71s (from Alex Martin and Colin Browning).
Played on a par-70 layout at The Club at Irish Creek, the event featured a format with four scores counting from six-man lineups instead of the traditional setup of five-man lineups.
