INDIANAPOLIS –– Appalachian State University women's track and field will have four student-athletes compete at the 2017 Outdoor Track and Field Preliminary Championships, as announced by the NCAA.
Tristin Van Ord was selected in the 5,000-meter run and 10,000-meter run, Darlene Girardeau was selected for both the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes, Taylor Drummonds earned a qualifying bid in the pole vault and Chelsey Hargrave was selected in the triple jump.
Van Ord snatched the silver medal in the 10,000-meter race at the Sun Belt Championships with a time of 36:41.
