BOONE, N.C. — Appalachian State University athletics held its second annual Letter Winners Ceremony on Wednesday night in Plemmons Student Union. App State handed out 81 letter jackets to students-athletes that were members of fall and winter sports teams.
Director of Athletics Doug Gillin kicked the ceremony off with some opening remarks and then handed to the stage over to Wayne Clawson, President of the Former Athlete Association. Clawson spoke on the importance of hard work and what a letter meant to him, when he worked to pay for his letter jacket 50 years ago.
