Cross Country: Regional honors for Blaney, Rotich and Traynor

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced this year’s Regional Athletes of the Year and three runners from The American took home honors.

Luke Traynor from Tulsa took home the Bill Bergan Award, given to the Athlete of the Year from the Midwest Region. Traynor won the Midwest Region title in 30:18.15 and also was the individual champion of the American Cross Country Championships.

Tulane’s Emmanuel Rotich earned Athlete of the Year in the South Central Region. Rotich won the South Central Region in 29:58, which was a Tulane school record in the 10K.
