IRVING, Texas – Five football teams from the American Athletic Conference’s future membership saw their incoming classes ranked among the top 75 by ESPN following the opening of the December signing period yesterday.
In addition to The American, the other conferences with at least five teams in the top 75 were the ACC, Big Ten, Big 12, Pac-12 and SEC.
Memphis had the highest-ranked class from The American as the Tigers were No. 55 in the ESPN list, directly ahead of Oklahoma State, Washington State and Georgia Tech, among others. The Tigers announced the signing of 22 student-athletes Wednesday, including 13 high school seniors and nine transfers.
