Daboll, 42, just finished his third season as New England’s tight end coach. He has been an offensive coordinator for three NFL teams: Cleveland, Miami and Kansas City. When Patriots coordinator Josh McDaniels was being mentioned as a candidate for several NFL head-coaching opportunities late in the ’16 season, speculation was that Daboll would replace him if he left.
