Joe Girardi will start his ninth season as the manager of the New York Yankees on Tuesday afternoon. His tenure as the Yankees' skipper is exceeded only by Hall of Famers Miller Huggins, Joe McCarthy, Casey Stengel and Joe Torre.
During a preseason interview with Sweeny Murti of WFAN-AM 660 for the New York radio station's web site podcast "30 with Murti," Girardi said he's changed and grown during his time at the helm of the Yankees, and he cited Alabama football coach Nick Saban as one of his influences.
