Defensive Effort Leads Men’s Basketball to a 61-55 Win at Florida

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Alabama men’s basketball team defeated Florida on the road on Saturday night, 61-55. The win snapped an 11-game losing streak to the Gators and also marks the first time the Tide has won in Gainesville since Feb. 25, 1995 (10 straight losses).

The Tide (15-9, 6-6 SEC) had to overcome adversity to clinch its fourth straight win and fifth win over its last six games. Leading 48-44 with 5:35 to play, senior Retin Obasohan was charged with his fifth foul.

Arthur Edwards fouled out just 13 seconds later, but Alabama responded by holding Florida (16-9, 7-5 SEC) to 0-of-6 from the field over the next two minutes.
