Back to the Alabama Crimson Tide Newsfeed

Alabama softball loses to Ole Miss for the first time since 2005.

The #14 Crimson Tide managed a split in Saturday’s unplanned double header against the 21st ranked Ole Miss Rebels in Oxford, losing in walk-off fashion in game two, despite another sterling pitching performance from senior Sydney Littlejohn. Alabama scored one in the first inning and, thanks largely to Littlejohn, nursed that slimmest of leads for seven innings before surrendering two runs, and the game, in the Rebels’ final at bat.

Even typing this recap makes me heartsick, because Alabama pitching deserves so much better than they are getting. Now, the team is in the desperate position of needing a win in Monday night’s finale (Sunday’s game moved to Saturday due to weather) to avoid dropping its third straight series.
