Alabama’s softball team played Ole Miss in the semifinals of the SEC tournament on Friday night. The Tide advanced thanks to an epic pitching performance by Alexis Osorio — a tourney-record 15 strikeouts in a quarterfinal win over Texas A&M — whose recruiting visit caused coach Patrick Murphy much grief.
Murphy appeared on SEC Network to discuss Alabama’s current tournament run and told a funny story about an interaction with Nick Saban during Osorio’s visit in 2015.
“We came into his office, we were a little early and Linda Leoni, his secretary, said, ‘Come on over,’ ” Murphy said.
