Daniel Robert was robbed of a go-ahead, extra-base hit in the seventh, and the wheels fell off for Auburn in an eight-run ninth for Alabama as the Tigers dropped their series finale against the Tide, 14-4, on Sunday at Plainsman Park. It marked the first time Auburn has been swept since the opening week of SEC play against Texas A&M and the first time Auburn (32-20, 12-15 SEC) was swept by Alabama (28-24, 11-16) at home since 1983.
“ I’m not going to sit here and candy-coat that I’m not real concerned,” Auburn head coach Sunny Golloway said.
