National Signing Day was a long, strange ride for Jarez Parks, but the defensive end eventually picked Alabama — just not the way everyone expected.
Parks, a four-star prospect from Sebastian (Fla.) Sebastian River, is heading to Tuscaloosa as a grayshirt, which means he won’t be put on scholarship until January 2018.
Parks was expected to announce his commitment Wednesday around 10 a.m. at his high school. But the expected announcement didn’t happen, and his high school coach was at a loss to explain what was going on.
