CECIL HURT: First poll means a lot of griping, sniping and yelling

The first college football poll of 2015 is out — the Coaches Poll, not The Associated Press, which is the one The Tuscaloosa News, like most newspapers, will rely on during the season.

The main difference in the Coaches Poll and the AP poll is that, with the Coaches Poll, fans don’t get to yell about how stupid the media is.

The vocal minority that can’t stand not to complain about polls tend to get around calling the coaches “morons” by pointing out that many coaches pass the ballot along to an administrative assistant or a sports information director.
